Aleksi Andrysiak was a devoted, though at times discouraged, Ukrainian born American citizen and world history teacher. Following a cataclysmic and disastrous field trip Aleksi and the class that he was supposed to be chaperoning were transported violently to another world, many of them being forced to have their bodies reconstituted following selections that were supposedly "Matched to their souls."  Aleksi finds himself in the body of a newborn vampire and separated from the students that he should have been keeping safe. Now he must figure out a way to control his own newly twisted nature, defy the expectations of those who see him as a force of darkness (from both sides), find a way to locate all his students, and keep them safe while also making sure that no one can take advantage of the new powers that they all have acquired. The only problem, aside from everything else, highs schoolers aren't known for being very cooperative and many of his students have other ideas that being "kept safe."
