In the distant future, humanity finds their precarious footing in the Medusa Galaxy through the emergence of the mecha sport BLACK METAL BUSTER. Soon, the Black Metal Circuit is born, an annual event attended by species from across the galaxy. Teams of two, three, and five control mechs (known colloquially as "busters"), hoping to secure their place as legends of Buster City. The 16th annual Black Metal Circuit now looms on the horizon. We follow the competition through the eyes of Sweetbread, a youth born and raised in Buster City, and Lenore, the lone son of space colonists. Our two heroes must overcome their anxieties and expectations to see that nothing short of complete dedication will ensure victory. And in a sport as dangerous as Black Metal Buster, there's no room for error.
