Self-destructive, suicidal artist and news stringer Sylvia is on the verge of a downward spiral after her deadbeat mother’s suspicious death. Yanked into the drama of a crow shape-shifting drug cartel that is responsible, Sylvia must now submerge herself in the gritty streets of New Orleans to stop the members who are hell-bent on destroying the rest of her loved ones. Sylvia has a couple of advantages, though. For one, the Grim Reaper refuses to take her soul. She can never die, no matter how hard she tries. Also, vengeful ex-member Angel has a good reason to infiltrate the gang again: they murdered his sister.  When Sylvia starts to find clues to her true immortal nature, she finds reasons to keep going. But can she stop her world from crumbling around her? After all, some things are worse than death.
