Set in the fictional capital Butter, four youths struggle to break out of the system in the country to achieve what they want. The city's power is divided between the Politicals and the Resistors where Nuan finds himself unable to submit against the traditions of his people. He grows to find a distaste for his master, Ehan who, without fail, declares his love for Nuan every day. Maya is treated as the sacrificial lamb when she is offered off in the hand of marriage as a guarantee for a petty game of betrayal. Her fiance is a disgustingly charming moocher and the next President of the country but Maya is determined to escape and attain the freedom she desires.
