Kahli could feel that familiar tingling sensation in her lower back stronger than ever now as she gripped tightly to G'athoong, who was just now settling back upright after a wretched spinning maneuver that left herself, Froufrou, and indeed Sahdi as well all feeling quite nauseated indeed. With that, Kahli allowed her system to take the reins and freeze time in that sublimely familiar way in order for her to appropriately level up.
[Level up]
[Level up]
Wow! Kahli had two level ups in there, the whole time? She must've been failing to pay attention to her system adequately enough to realize earlier, considering all the stressors she'd been dealing with. Now that was really wild. She was thrilled, if not a little exhausted from the exhilarating experience of substantially increasing her level.
[Congratulations, you've reached level 27]
It felt great, to Kahli, to finally be level 27. She was only three level ups away from level 30 now! It was a good thing, too - she'd been facing some incredibly challenging circumstances as of late, and they only seemed to be getting more intensive as time went on. Indeed, it seemed vital for Kahli to increase her level as much as possible over the coming
[You have 1 skill slot available, would you like to select a skill?]
All that, and a [skill] slot, too? Kahli had been super anxious about this fight with Taubitha, but seeing that she not only had been able to increase her level twice and also get a [skill], well, she was feeling much better about everything. So, of course, Kahli allowed her system to go ahead and launch into the system prompts that would allow her to make use of the available [skill] slot.
[Excellent. The following skills are available for selection:]
[Rock Summon (increase)]
[Seismic Sense (increase)]
[Tale Teller (increase)]
[Minor Time Rift (class)]
[Minor Time Warp (class)]
So, Kahli had the opportunity to increase any of her standard [skills], as well as pick two new [skills], both of which looked to be somewhat tied to her new [class] abilities. She noticed that this was particularly underscored by the (class) specifier beside the [skill] options, just as (increase) was noted for those [skills] that she had available to increase the power level of. With that, Kahli was feeling quite divided, but also indeed quite excited as well. After all, this was the first time she'd gotten a chance to get a [skill] that was well-aligned with her [class]. At the same time, the thought of increasing [Seismic Sense] was always tempting - it was always incredibly tempting, every time she indeed had a [skill] slot open, to increase what was arguably her most powerful and useful [skill] - and yet, these new [skills] bared, at the very least, a thorough analysis with her system to ensure that Kahli didn't miss out on anything sweet.
That being said, Kahli wasn't sure what increasing [Seismic Sense] would do to it. She could already twist timelines. What more was there to do? She already knew what increasing [Rock Summon] and increasing [Tale Teller] could do, and both were tempting in their own right, but the semi-overpowered nature of [Seismic Sense] always made it all the more attractive. With that, Kahli decided she would look at [Seismic Sense]'s increase, then the [class] options of both [Minor Time Rift] and [Minor Time Warp] to see what might be the most effective option, seeing as she had but one [skill] slot to spend at this time.
[Seismic Sense (increase)]
[Increasing this skill will further enhance and add on to its ability to control time in a timeline format. This is through expanding the capacity of timeline twisting. That is to say that increasing this skill will allow you to twist every available timeline. It will also remove the cap that presently prevents you from selecting a different timeline scenario after you select and twist a scenario, so that in effect you could potentially twist a timeline scenario and then select an entirely different scenario. You could also twist every timeline scenario available with this skill increase.]

Kahli felt very tempted indeed by this offering from her system. So increasing [Seismic Sense] would essentially allow her - and by extensions Froufrou, too - the ability to twist any timeline scenario, and pick any scenario afterwards? [Seismic Sense] was such a powerful and indeed nearly essential [skill] to her that it was hard to not already feel obligated to select it. Still, Kahli had to give ample consideration to the new available [skills] she had, especially considering that she had no idea if the option to choose them would ever show up again after this specific leveling prompt.
[Clarification: The skills you have currently available to select using your skill slot are special skills tied to your class. As such, they are not liable to the same degradation from available selection options as other skills are. That is to say that they will not drop off your skill selection option prompt unless you either select and learn them, or revoke your class. The benefit, is that you will not lose to option to learn them as you may with other skills based on your behavior and elementality. At the same time, the drawback is that you will not be able to select and learn a skill based on your behavior and elementality until you either accept and learn these class related skills or you revoke your class.]
Kahli was a little confused. She was thrilled to hear that she would continue to get options to learn and use these new [skills] if she didn't choose them now, however, at the same time she was desperately confused and concerned with what it meant to revoke a [class]. Kahli had been under the impression that once she accepted a [class], that was it. That it was the end. But from what her system made it sound, the truth instead was that [classes] could be... removed somehow? What exactly did it mean to revoke a [class], and what all did it entail?
[Clarification: Revoking a class is no easy task, and indeed it is altogether an uncommon course of action. In all of recorded systemic history, there are only two records of classes being revoked ever detailed. That being said, revoking a class removes all skills directly tied to that class and bars you from ever binding the class to your system again.]
Wow. Well, Kahli definitely couldn't say she didn't at least have a faint grasp of what revoking a [class] entailed, although it seemed quite mysterious indeed. Only two revokings in all of the universal system record? That was sparse, for certain. Kahli was quite interested to learn why some folks had decided to revoke their [classes], but that could do for another time at this point, as she was also interested to know about her new [skill] options tied to her [class]. It wasn't like she was looking to revoke it any time soon.
[Minor Time Rift (class)]
[Gaining the skill of Minor Time Rift will allow you to create minor openings in time that you can manipulate - and sometimes indeed pass through - at will. Minor time rift is limited in size, scope, and intent - that being said, do not be misled by its name. This skill holds in it, even unincreased, the ability to massively affect the world around you, and should be treated as such.]
Well, that was quite intriguing indeed. So Kahli got a chance to open rifts in time just like the Supreme Time Protector did with this [skill] of [Minor Time Rift]. Of course, this would be less powerful than the Supreme Time Protector's wild abilities to hop through rifts willy nilly and constantly argue with themselves, but it would still be a massive boon to Kahli. She did think it made a pretty good argument to being her chosen [skill], however at the same time she was indeed still on the fence as to whether she ought to go for it, increase [Seismic Sense], or go for the next new [skill] entirely. But that was what system analysis was for, now wasn't it?
[Minor Time Warp (class)]
[Controlling the speed of time is one thing, but controlling time mapping is another. Time mapping as a concept refers to the general sequencing of events, creating a Minor Time Warp allows you to tap in and manipulate that sequence of events to your will and benefit. This is an incredibly risky, yet also incredibly power skill that, when combined with your other skills, allows for numerous skill configurations that can lead to massive amounts of power. Of course, this minor version of the skill is still fairly limited in scope, intent, and size.]
Kahli was starting to feel a little... uncomfortable with everything. Sure, she'd already been through an awful lot regarding manipulating time - and after all, her [class] was that of a [Time Manipulator] - and yet, at the same time, she was starting to feel like she was getting a true glimpse into what it actually meant to be a [Time Manipulator]. The power to open up rifts in time was one thing. It made sense to Kahli in the context of her memories with the Supreme Time Protector. However, the ability to shift events in time themself started to make her feel very weird and uncomfortable about existence for a moment. After all, had she not already gained the ability to split time into timeline scenarios? Now she could... or would... be able to reorder the sequences of events to her will? Albeit, it would be limited - at least at first. How could Kahli ever hope to lead a normal life if she had such power?
And yet, at the same time, Kahli remembered something - if she didn't act in some way, there wasn't going to be such thing as a normal life on Nomachiato ever again.
