Synopsis
Nina Caldwell wasn’t especially superstitious, but she didn’t believe in tempting fate.
Except in situations where it was impossible or prohibitively inconvenient, she crossed her fingers when she lied, thanked the powers that be whenever she experienced a stroke of luck, and rapped lightly on the nearest piece of wood whenever someone said the words, “What could possibly go wrong?”
As such, on the rare occasion she came across fairy rings, she went out of her way to walk around them.
...it's too bad nobody warned her about driving through them.
