Synopsis
*This story has stats. And game mechanics mysteries. I'll be exploring multiple craft systems, due to the difference between the Player-Characters and Non-Player Characters.
As a reader, you can expect tons of action. I'm aiming for something that is Lit RPG, plot driven, but occurs in a battle arena. If you're looking for a high-octane real-world game lit blood-sport, with danger lurking around every corner, then you found it. Just give it some time. Warning: The story will be long! Welcome!
*Will post at least twice a week, sometimes daily when I've written and edited a bunch.
They can watch you, but you can’t watch them. Who is that behind the cameras?
A screening takes place each year in the place where Anna is from, County 54. A single eighteen-year-old will either pass or fail. Pass, and you get to stay in the town. Lose, and you are escorted to the perimeter of the town and forgotten about, forced to make it on your own out in what is the bloodiest live battle grounds the world has ever seen. This year is Anna’s turn, but there’s one more problem. In all the years she has lived here, nobody has ever passed.
There is a reason for this.
The year is 2250, and Anna’s town is full of the fliers that advertise the blood-sport called Bang. The only thing history class details about the past and this blood-sport is a quote from the CEO of Genuine Realm Systems Incorporated, just before the innovative operating system was implemented across the world. “Virtual Reality couldn’t answer the problem. And the problem was simple. Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die. Gen Realm Systems fixed that. Virtual Reality put heaven in front of your eyes. But Genuine Reality puts heaven in your neighborhood. Choose Genuine Reality. Choose to play Bang”
In a world where immortality is now as common as an app setting, and gaming is now common law on the streets, people have put down the virtual video games and traded it for the real thing. Anna is put to the test as the Game Start Screen nears closer. She has a constant struggle to find herself, keeping her confused about how to stay alive, because, well, she isn’t a player-character. She is a non-player character. From the start of her Game Start Screen ceremony, to the rush of events that happen afterwards, she fights to balance intuition and logic, and family and love, as she navigates the marvelous invention that is known as the Genuine Reality System, all while being streamed live on a community-based social media platform. Can you figure out who’s watching?
I hope you simply have fun!
