In the Wooded Realm of Marinclay things are seldom what they seem. A colourful troupe of puppeteers and merry makers that travel from town to town might have you rolling on the ground in stitches after laughing at what their hand-carved ringleader has to say, but just because they came to put a smile on your face in trade for some coin doesn't mean you should neglect double checking the contents of your pockets after the show. And wouldn't you know it, by the time you've noticed what isn't there to be found the troupe has already packed up and rolled away to the next adoring crowd. For Sorrel Fellingwood that's just another day on the job as a less than proud member of the Puppet Players of Strise Traveling Merriment Co. So one can only fault her so much for not realizing that in just one years time she'd find herself leading an army of the dead on a march to cull a World Tree to fulfill the quest of putting an end to an ageless kingdom. What shall come is the tale of the mother of modern necromancy and the threads of fate she has been cursed to follow. This story will be ongoing for some time as I originally wrote it as a rough 117,000 word manuscript in 2021. Using that as an outline I'm hoping to create a lengthy fantasy tale ripe with adventure and intrigue. New chapters are posted every Monday and Thursday.
