Synopsis
Life in Plania is hard and often short. From the blasted wastes of the west rife with bandits and sand crawlers, to the developed east where the corrupted rule the streets, to the Great Forest nestled between them, brimming with life and death in every form. Every day could be your last, no matter where you live, and the only way for the masses to live fruitful lives is for a brave few heroes to step forward and stand between the public and the terrors of the world. These heroes turn to one of the several academies scattered across the east, but one establishment shines above the rest, consistently pumping out the best and brightest lights to slice through the darkness; Axorian Academy. It was the dream school of every wannabe hero, and this year provided them with ample prime material.
Michael Lare, born and raised in the wastelands, hated civilization. The only reason he forced himself to stomach years of public education was so he would have his chance in the academy. Not to protect the public, as the other fools might claim, but so he could return to the wastes and avenge his clan, to bring down the regime that had hunted his family to near extinction, leaving him and his father alone and forced to flee east. He would make them pay, no matter the cost.
Xander Leonard Ricard IV was a legacy in the truest sense, child to the father he was named after and the famous heroine Clarice Ricard, the most well known living power couple alumni of the academy. He had been preparing for the academy all his life, taking every lesson his parents taught him as gospel, and it had served him well. It was only a shame they never taught him how to work properly with a team. Lucky for him, he was a fast learner.
Kahli didn't understand the city, but he was fascinated with its denizens. Civilization in the Great Forest was a precious resource, usually spread across several small interconnected outposts rather than anything close to being called a settlement, being surrounded by thousands upon thousands of people was an adjustment to say the least. He had only met a handful of people in his entire life before moving to the city, but the giant creatures of the forest had taught him how to fight his way out of any situation, not to mention his father and brothers' tutelage in that time.
Havok didn’t know who he was. He didn’t know where he came from, whether or not he had any family, or even how old he was. He didn’t know where all his guns came from, but he knew how to use them well, along with all their intricate inner workings by heart. He didn’t know much about the world around him, but he knew he had what it took to be a hero. If he has any chance of regaining his past, he’ll have to seek it out, pull it up by the roots and rip its secrets into the light. Will he find a familiar friend, or a forgotten enemy?
These four, along with their classmates will have to find their destinies, whether they’re pre-written or waiting to be forged. They will have to fight, to struggle, to lose, to gain. Do they have what it takes to be heroes?
