Autumn Star     Ambroise, ‘The Immortal’ and her ancestors had lived in the Black Forest for over a thousand years. Darius the Great and the Immortals were her claim to nobility. Her heritage, of a Persian Jewess, was a secret that only her brother Cy, shared. As a teenage survivor of the Rhineland Massacre, she saw her parents, her village and her heroine, the famed trader and merchant, Esther Minna of Worms, slaughtered.   She vows to overcome her oppressors and to return to the homeland of her ancestors in Jerusalem, where she  becomes a successful and independent merchant.  When she receives a message from Giovanni her trading partner in Persia, that he has found a relic from  Solomon’s Temple, she sets out on a perilous journey to meet him. Travelling with her guardian and protector, Pierre, along the Spice Road from Jerusalem, across the desert and deep into Persia to meet him at the Great Bazaar, she encounters the perilous dangers of man and nature.   Drogo, the sole survivor of the siege in Hungary, leads the Templars in the quest to steal the relic from Ambroise, and keep it for themselves. Determined to return the relic to the Temple, she is challenged by the Templars who will killer her to possess the relic.   Her journey takes her from France to Jerusalem and to the historic cities along the Spice Route, during the time of the first Templars and crusades. During her travels she encounters a Bedouin Caravan, and has to learn who her enemies are, and who she can trust, in her quest to save the relic from falling into the hands of the Templars.   If she succeeds in returning the relic to the Temple, she may gain atonement in her own spiritual journey and her own immortal powers. If she fails, the powers of the relic will fall into enemies’ hands, the Templars, who will use to destroy her and her people.
