Synopsis

Ever since he was a young boy, and saw it in a show, Kuroki has always been interested in magic.  The mystic arts, real magic, and would love to dive into book after book in order to read more of it.  It was his light against the darkness, but a light that his personal darkness did not approve of.  His father was a hardcore martial artist, and who was always annoyed with Kuroki.  He was a strong believer in things like "magic" was for girls, and then males like them should only be interested in swordsmanship and martial arts, which he taught Kuroki brutally. Any time he found Kuroki with anything so much as resembling an interest in magic, he would make him do a double dojo session that day.  Kuroki was always more of a shy bookish type, which his father tried to "train" out of him as well.  Not only that, but Kuroki always seemed to appear younger and shorter then the other boys his age.  He had no natural talent in swordsmanship nor in martial arts, so while he might have absorbed some of the various lessons his father taught him, it was never enough to make him happy.  And it was certainly a miserable experience for Kuroki. And so, one day while he was just finished walking home from junior high with some classmates, daydreaming about magic, that was when everything changed.  The group of them took cover under an awning, trying to wait out the storm...when something strange happened.  For a moment, all the rain drops stopped in the air, frozen in time.  Same with the lightning bolts.  And then, after a few seconds, suddenly the rain and lightning seemed to reverse.  Rain began to fall upwards, dripping out from the roads.  Lightning shot into the sky, and then gravity itself seemed to stop for him and everyone else in the city. And then, their vision was consumed by a huge flash of light. Now he finds himself in the world of Astraea, with not a trace of his old world when he wakes up.  And yet in its place, its the one thing he always dreamed of.  Magic.  With the ability to wield and learn magic, will he be able to survive in this new world?  Only time will tell, as this world is not exactly peaceful, and with the shadows of his father and the other threats in this world, who knows what might happen.  Not to mention the critical, most important question of all. What happened to bring him and so many others to this world?  Why was it done?  And who is behind it? These would be questions he would want answers to as he began his journey of adventure and magic.
