Synopsis
Dear Mom,
Please don’t worry. I expected this. You will be at home around 2:15 this afternoon, during the school assembly, when you’ll receive a phone call from a panicked administrator, stating that I and approximately 85% of my schoolmates have vanished, along with a few people from the surrounding schools.
It’s okay, we’re fine. Do you remember that story I told you a couple weeks ago, that I saw in a dream? It’s just like that. We’ll be fine. We won’t be able to return, but I promise you’ll see us again.
You probably won’t believe me, but you have 17 days until you can join us. In that time, you need to pack anything you think is important. No, you can’t pack the entire house. Size limit is anything you are touching that night at midnight. No, that doesn’t include your chair. Yes, it does include the cat carrier. Good luck convincing Dad to help you pack.
Everyone who worries about our disappearance will receive a dream in about three days (at midnight, so make sure you’re asleep), so ensure you make contact with the others and convince them to at least give it a shot. Whether they believe or not doesn’t matter as much as the intention to join us.
Please, don’t be scared. We’re fine. Just get ready.
Love,
Your (missing) daughter,
Tabby
