Ares had died, and now Ari had to take over his body and live as his substitute. Ari was nothing but an immanent spirit of a mundane diary. Present, just like every object in the universe contains its own immanent spirit. Unthinking, unfeeling. But two years ago, he was elevated to sapience by Ares' grieving familiar, Dom. He was tasked with taking over Ares' body as Dom was unable to do so any longer. After 1 year of being Ares' substitute, Dom left him on his own and entered seclusion. Left with no one to supervise him, directionless, and had no goal besides trying his best as Ares' substitute. Two years have passed since he was granted sapience. Read along as Ari began his new life as a student of a sorcier academy, training to become a sorcerous soldier with others of Ares' own age. Trying his best as Ares' substitute while also finding his own purpose other than that. And maybe kicking some ass in the meantime. This is a progression story based on a magic highschool. I've thought about this story as a Classroom of the Elite but in a magical school. The story will be about students battling against other class so that they can be directly invited into the most prestigious magical university in their country. The MC magical ability progression will be quite slow as he grow alongside the curriculum. I planned to have most of the battle to be more about match up rather than who has the bigger stick. If i failed to do so, please remind me, this is my first story so i hope i will be able to deliver on my promise. Also, I'm not a native English speaker so if there were strange choice of words please tell me. As this is school life story, i also planned to add a bit more slice of life chapter as well. So, you can expect the progression to be a bit slow as the MC learned new magical technique that are required for him to pass his exams. The setting I've decided to use is one of my worldbuilding project, so i already have a plan in mind about the progression the MC will have as he learn more magical skill during his school life.
