Synopsis

After long eons of equilibrium and monotonous predictability, the Archon-Goddess Kythia summons the Godskind of the High Sphere to a contest to crown the first overlord of the Godskind, a title never before borne by even the most powerful of the Gods. Crowned winner will be the one with the most mortals under their divine mantle. The rules are few, but the punishment is severe, loss of control of the souls passing through the Veil between the Hollow Sphere into the High Sphere or the Nether, the very core of divinity.  The First World, Progaia, is inhabited by the Firstborn, the chosen children of the Great Mother and Great Father, who forged Progaia and the Hollow Sphere, but also the myriad of Lesser Races. The Firstborn, calling themselves the Helikiai and Thymai, are always passed back through the Veil, where Lesser Races vie for this privilege through intense devotion and supplication to their chosen deity, or through sacrifice to a deity's acolyte. For the Godskind, the mortals are nothing but sources for their own power, they are uncaring for their well-being and often ignorant of their very existence.  Now, as the Godskind refocus on the mortals and the Firstborn of Progaia, fates are sealed or given new direction, lives sacrificed for callous Gods' amusement and advancement in a heavenly blood sport. But some among the Hollow Sphere's denizens will through their patron Gods' intervention, rise to extreme heights. And the Gods themselves will find themselves drawn into war, a contest turning into a fight for divine survival. The Ages of Blood is upon the Spheres, may a Champion be crowned, in the Heavens as on the First World.   A bit different from what I usually write, but I hope you like long chapters, and bear with my life situation's inability to guarantee regular uploads of chapters. Note: English is not my first language.
