The relics from a long-lost civilization are being sought after by the nefarious Galactic Federation. The purpose of the relics is unknown, but one thing is certain: it cannot be good for the galaxy if they fall into the evil hands of the Federation.  At least, that is what the Imperium's military intelligence believes. Sam, a soldier in the Forward Orbital Recon Force (FORF), could care less. He is only in the military because humans have discriminated against his species for centuries, and he is left with limited options. Military service being one of them, and he regrets his decision every day.  But, there is something important about this mission that Sam will soon discover as his unit travels across the galaxy, trying to uncover ancient secrets and prevent them from falling into the hands of the Galactic Federation. This short story is filled with adventure, action, and self-discovery as Sam faces off against ancient technology, cyborg mercenaries, and soldiers from an ancient civilization believed to have been long lost.
