Synopsis

Everyone wants to escape to another world, another reality at some point in their lives, right? But what if you're already used to living in a different world than most of the people around you, and have spent your life trying to create a window you can climb through to join them? After losing touch with reality, a kind but damaged father loses everything else when he is tossed into another world. With the help of a talking rabbit, can the man find who he is, and who he wants to be, so that he find his way back home? ... The man had long since outgrown escapist daydreams of going to a World of Magic and Fantasy. His dream was learning how to fully be a part of the world he had been born into. Being "on spectrum" he had started well behind the curve compared to most people, but it didn't matter how many times he'd been kicked while he was down.  He always tried again, and he always held on to hope. He'd come a very long way from the "small-for-his-age-weird-exciteable-super-intense-kid-who-was-always-making-strange-noises" that he had started out as. He had priceless, precious things to live for, like his children, even if his personal relationship history only provided a case study of mistakes to learn from. There were things he still wanted to do with his life, in his world. He found himself asking if he'd lost his sense of wonder because he'd grown too old. He was definitely not the best candidate to enjoy involuntary divine inter-universal tourism, but that turns out to be the whole point. The man ends up in a fantastic New World of Magic, but in the worst possible way. He can feel the loss of his children and the life he left behind, but he can't remember what is missing. With most of his memories sealed, he is misled about his purpose in this new world and then sent out on a divine quest designed to cause him misery. The man's "divine blessing" is arguably a curse, yo-yoing him between the inconveniences of adolescence and middle age, but at least survival doesn't seem like it will be a concern. Magic is full of complexity and attitude, and thanks to his "blessing" it won't be much use in a fight. At least he has a trusty Divine Animal Companion™ to help him defeat otherworldly monsters, corrupt nobles, morally questionable researchers, debt collectors, desperate bloodthirsty orphans, divine machinations, and verbally abusive tavern servers! Wait, why is his Divine Animal Companion™ a fluffy telepathic bunny?!? Is he ever going to get a decent pair of pants that fits and doesn't feel funny? Does he have interdimensional Pink Eye?!? ... Can the man find himself again? If he can regain his memory, will he be able to handle what he learns about himself?  Who is he really? Who does he want to be?
