An assimilating shapeshifter genetically engineered and created by a state-funded transhumanist megacorporation escaped from a secret lab by accident. A being of no moral compass, it absorbed a 13-year old middle schooler. After receiving his memories post-absorption, the shapeshifter must navigate the former boy's life, while evading authorities, manipulating the former boy's friends, and hiding its true nature from the boy's family and prying eyes of the public.
