Jack is a hardworking IT specialist who dreams of making money with his passion for MMORPG video games. One night, he receives an email from an unknown address offering him a job as a moderator for a new MMORPG game. Without reading the contract, Jack accepts the job offer and signs on the dotted line. This proves to be a grave mistake, as he soon finds himself transported to a whole new fantasy world. In this new world, Jack is given a small plot of land and a shack to live in. He is tasked with fighting monsters and other players to gain power and strength, all while working to prepare the game for its public release in two months' time. Unlike the players, however, death is permanent for moderators. The only special ability they have is a small tablet-like object that gives them access to their stats, home, inventory, powers, and land. With the promise of earning as much currency as he wants, Jack sets out to make a name for himself in this new world. He can work with other moderators to strengthen themselves together or kill them if he finds them. He can also purchase land from the crown and watch as towns and the lands develop and change over time. As Jack navigates this new world, he discovers that he must earn his powers rather than being granted them outright. He must use his skills and determination to survive and thrive in this new reality. With each passing day, Jack grows stronger and more confident in his abilities. However, as the public release date draws nearer, Jack realizes that he may not be able to leave this world behind. He has become too invested in it, both financially and emotionally. When the time comes to return to the real world, Jack must decide whether to stay or go back to his old life. Throughout his journey, Jack faces numerous challenges and setbacks that test his resolve and force him to adapt and grow. In the end, he emerges stronger and more self-assured than ever before. The world he once dreamed of has become a reality, and he has proven himself to be more than capable of thriving in it.
