At the age of thirty-five, the programmer Wayne crossed into a different world resembling a place similar to London and became a private detective. In his previous life, he was somewhat unruly and didn't take his detective work seriously, earning a modest income. However, after Wayne crossed over, he found himself having to subsist on various potato dishes for all his meals. Fortunately, upon arriving in this new world, Wayne's memory was enhanced. To make ends meet, he urgently learned a lot about detective work and, with a flexible moral compass, managed to earn some living expenses. However, his life took a turn when a wealthy young lady, accompanied by a tall, strong man with a fierce aura and a male cat, approached him. They offered to pay him to work as their detective assistant, and Wayne's life changed drastically.  During their interactions, Wayne discovered the existence of magic in this world, and there were signs that his portable "Book of Greed," a magical tool, was starting to activate.
