Synopsis
Al didn’t panic about the whole waking up in a body that’s not hers (lies, she panicked). She decided to make the best of this by adopting her favorite character as her dad and saving her new race from being killed off. She really should have expected the torture, kidnapping, and being hunted like some common animal. This was a tragedy, after all—hurt with no comfort was the theme in this book. But not anymore. She’s going to be the comfort these people need, and she’s going to burn anyone alive who tries to stop her.
Expect: a found family, an anti-hero protagonist who delights in setting people aflame and causing trouble for amusement, bickering friendships, overwhelmed young adults tricked into caring for a wild child, dark humor, a system that doesn't know how to system and essentially acts as the main character's fangirl, a blend of dark and light themes, a character-driven narrative with an underlying plot, mysteries, and queer-friendly writing.
Do not expect: Tragedy (I write to bring smiles, not tears), Politics (not my forte), Romance (not my preferred genre, but open to interpretation), or LitRPG (there is a system, but it does not feature typical gaming elements like leveling up or health bars).
