The Empire of Syn, a super-continent spanning hegemony consisting of a thousand ruling lords under one Emperor. It's vast dominion is home to humans and other creatures of lesser creation. Supernatural beasts stalk it's domain, creatures warped by magic threaten it's people. Human curiosity and envy tampering with the uncontrollable unleash foul magic that pollutes the air or brings whole cities to ruin or worse - turns thousands of innocent lives into the unthinking undead hungering for flesh.  Caught between it all is the slayers, a once noble order of professionals dedicated to stemming the tides of ruin that seek Syn's destruction. Though their fall from grace was long ago and their numbers dwindle they still fight. There is little choice in the matter, due to exceptionally low life expectancy, Imperial Decree states all slayers are chosen from criminals, from the lowest pickpocket to serial killer all are given the choice, face punishment or join the Slayers. Found as a babe, Agarn Of Syn, has lived and trained in a Coven his whole life. Agarn's ambition is to stand tall and fullfill his duty never knowing any other life, he need only surivive all the trials and tribulations a thirteen year-old boy faces when confronting the supernatural. And that is no small feat in the Empire of Syn.
