Victor von Nightshade isn’t a traditional vampire. He isn’t ancient, he isn’t particularly menacing, and he sure as hell wasn’t smooth. What he was, however, was desperate. Sent to America on a recruitment mission for the Nightshade Network, promising eternal life and financial success, Victor had quickly realized that convincing people to join a vampire run multi-level marketing scheme was a lot harder than his superiors had made it sound. Rejected at every turn and dangerously close to being called back in disgrace, Victor needed a new angle and fast. If young, vibrant people weren’t interested in immortality, maybe he’d been pitching to the wrong demographic. Why waste time on skeptical millennials when there was an entire population desperate for more time?  Armed with a barely rehearsed sales pitch and an unsettling amount of awkward enthusiasm, Victor ventures into Evergreen Rest, hoping to sell eternity to those with little left to lose. What starts as a simple recruitment mission quickly spirals into a tangled mess of ethical dilemmas, unexpected friendships, and the creeping suspicion that he might not be the only creature of the night with a vested interest in the nursing home’s residents.
