Yes or no? Everything in life boils down to these two choices. Yes, the acceptance and agreement, or no, the denial and rejection. However, there was never supposed to be a choice after this last fight; everything was supposed to end. My days living in this escape from reality were supposed to be over. So, when I was prompted with the question "Do you wish to ascend?" I was a bit curious, to say the least. For five years, millions of people have lived and died inside the VRMMO Alarian. The only ray of hope for everyone was defeating the final boss Maleithar. Unfortunately, this task seemed like an insurmountable objective because the rules of this world dictated you had to clear that dungeon by yourself with no outside help. Then and only then would the survivors be freed from the nightmare they found themselves unable to leave. Yet, with the battle over, I found myself faced with this simple question. Sometimes questions can be left unanswered; other times, the question demands an answer, and this was one of those times. There will not be a lot of 'Status' or 'Skill' screens. There will be a few in the first couple of chapters for the purpose of introducing characters. So, while this technically does fall in 'Lit-RPG' territory, there really will not be many screens. My current planned posting schedule, once I am prepared to start posting, is likely to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Chapter two may not happen for a while, but I do hope you come back to read more when the postings start. If all goes well and I can start writing a bit faster we are looking at MAYBE early August.
