Lucas Alphonse is the third son of the Grand Ducal Family Alphonse. Not only does he lack peerage or an entitlement to being the heir he also has an abysmal lack of talent for a son of the greatest military family in the empire. Unfortunately he is given two choices: enter the Academy and get his act together or be sent to the frontlines.  Reluctantly entering the Academy he quickly finds himself making enemies and becoming entangled in plots he has no understanding of.
