1. Master 1

A strand of divine sense. Traversing the world of cultivation through the eyes of many, recording the often short stories of its many inhabitants.

"Feng'er. Wake up."

"I'm up!"

Xia Xuefeng jumped upright the instant she heard her Master speak. She vigorously looked around, groggily swinging her head both ways as she did so.

"Feng'er..." her Master said as he familiarly pressed the tips of his right index and middle finger above the end of his right eyebrow, moving them together as they rubbed on that area counterclockwise, while the thumb rested on his cheek.

His left hand was raised, to shoulder level, with the palm left open; the fingers positioned in such a way it seemed as if they were clawing the sky.

"What?!"

"Has my teachings fallen upon deaf ears? I wonder if I can still find another…”

“Hey! You’re the one who kidnapped me! And I’m not deaf!”

“Oh? Really? Then what do I keep trying to teach you?”

Xuefeng ritually straightens her back, pushing her rather lacking chest out, crossing her arms in front of it, holding her head up high and closing her left eye while almost closing her right.

She takes a deep breath before speaking in a manner that highlights every syllable in a deep, almost monotone voice which fails to hide the sarcastic tone.

“A Cul-Ti-Vator Must ALWAYS Be Prepared to face MANY a Un-Fortunate Possi-Bility…”

She began to inspect her person and environment with her right eye as she performed her ‘dance’ to appease her master.

“... In… Or… Der… … to”

Her voice and its tone began to progressively wane, conversely her eyes began to widen, as her inspection, with her newfound clarity equipped, continued. Her face, similarly, was progressively turning into a darker shade of red as she continued.

She first noticed that to the left of her master’s back, he had his left hand raised with an almost invisible aura oozing out from the center of the palm to form a string of aura 4 fingers wide.

He was actively casting a Mystic Art with his left hand and tracing that flow Qi to herself, she noticed that she was floating slightly higher than her Master’s flying sword as it zoomed through the sky.

Although the most important point she failed to recognize immediately that she was currently not on it and would be soaring further away from it, if not for the efforts of her master.

Xia Xuefeng was beginning to think that the once chilly winds of the sky she felt on her face weren’t as chilly as they once were anymore.

“Feng’er. In order to?” Her Master said in a wonderfully jovial manner specifically targeting her embarrassment. Much to the irritation of Xuefeng.

“...”

“Feng’er?”

“...”

“You know I won’t let you back in if you don’t finish.”

“...to come out on top no matter what…”

She said weakly, looking upwards towards the clouds rapidly passing by above her in order to avoid looking at the smug grin on her Master’s face. Attempting to quash the flames of embarrassment borne from an injured pride.

“Well, you are out on top of the situation. At least you’ve heeded my teachings” said her Master, with the smuggest grin on his face

“...”

Brink of shattering pride.
