When a corporate accident tears holes in reality, an entomologist and her con-artist husband become the best hope humanity has against total destruction.  Hawk West is not the scientist we need right now. She's an entomologist, a "bug doctor", with a specialization in ants and an obsession with honeypots. Her husband, Alex West, is a reformed con artist. But a billionaire's pet business, the Ararat Project, has just torn a hole in the fabric of reality, and the things on the other side aren't friendly. Energy gushes out of the hole, transforming all organic matter into crystalline ashes.  They're calling it Glass, and they have no way of stopping it.  But then Hawk's specialty proves to be the answer Ararat was looking for.
