January 4th, 2103. The North American Union—a colossal hyperpower formed from the unification of Mexico, Canada, the United States, Central America, and most of the Caribbean, with colonies scattered across the globe—has dominated the world stage for over 40 years. Its rise followed the collapse of the United States as the world’s leading power, a fracturing of NATO that led to the creation of the European Federation, and a prolonged struggle for global dominance involving the European Federation, the United States, and Chinese Hegemony.  In 2053, the American Conference unified the nations of North America into a single entity, birthing the NAU, while South America formed its own sibling entity. Together, they reign as the supreme authority of the world, with the power to rain destruction and devastation on those who oppose them. One day, North American ships patrolling off the coast of South American-controlled Martinique detect a fleet of small, unidentified vessels approaching. This encounter marks the NAU’s first contact with the inhabitants of P-02—a distant world named Tieda by its own people and quickly adopted by the general populace. What begins as a moment of discovery soon plunges the NAU and its allies into a complex web of intrigue and conflict. Tieda’s civilizations present a baffling blend of technologies: Advancements that rival Earth’s progress from under 200 years ago mix with impossibilities that can only be regarded as magical. The NAU must navigate a volatile mix of exploration, colonization, negotiation, and, when tensions escalate, conflict. As it ventures into this uncharted frontier, the NAU and its allies are forced to confront harsh challenges: how to coexist with fiercely independent foreign nations, whether to preserve or subjugate alien cultures, and how to wield its vast power responsibly, even if it means that it must exterminate those who oppose it's might. This is my first story, so there’s bound to be an abundance of mistakes and grammatical errors, so please be patient. I will use aspects of AI to adjust my writing to correct these and touch it up, but let it be known that NONE of the story will be affected by AI, and that though the AI will adjust grammar, I don’t plan on letting it change anything else. I merely wish to present an enjoyable story, free of grammatical errors and continuity errors, and AI is my means of perfecting it. I do hope though, to eventually rid myself of the AI, as I hope that after writing a lot, my own writing will be sufficient to be free of the AI's help.
