The world is dying. In An event called The Surge, the amount of ambient mana became a hundred times denser, causing many to simply die immediately due to mana poisoning and for the dungeons of the world recycle the mana in the only way they know how, by creating near unending hordes of monsters. The last remnants of civilization are either cities surrounded by titanic walls, or small villages hidden in the safety of the wilderness. Sensing the imminent extinction of the mortal races, a goddess uses the last of her power to create Sentinel, a fungal hivemind given a simple purpose, and three rules.  .1 Prevent the extinction of the mortal races by any means necessary. .2 Do not intervene in their affairs unless absolutely necessary. .3 One race can be sacrificed to save others.
