You would think growing a tail every time you get in water and having to deal with basic teenage life would be hard enough. But after her guardian is kidnapped, leaving her with very specific instructions, when Kelliope's life gets turned upside down now. She must find a way to save not only Nettie, but now a kingdom she never knew existed. ~~~~~ Kelliope has lived on land with her guardian, Nettie, for the past fifteen years. She has been told that humans were hunting their kind in the water and her parents sent her to shore to be safe and would send for her when they found a safe place. But after Nettie is kidnapped and sends her to a house of someone claiming to be an escapee, she hears a different story. She hears a story of evil in the water that has taken over most all the mermaid kingdoms in the ocean. Very few escaped the take over and they captured the others turning them into slaves. Nobody seems to know what this evil is or where it comes from. She must band together with some of the others that fled to take back the seas, because now they are being hunted. And when Kelliope hears an alternative story about her parents, she knows she doesn't have a choice in the matter. She meets a range of people and creatures on her adventure and finds out that the sea is holding more secrets than she knew. Will her new friends be able to help her take back the Seas, or will the evil catch up to them and drag her back to the dark depths?
