In the twin islands of Lixcyus, the Kingdom of Wis sits isolated from the rest of the world under the watchful guidance of the Three Goddesses. However, the recent years have seen the kingdom wallowing in strife and hardship as rising tensions between the Church of Sacred Order and members of noble society continue to escalate, not at all helped by the ever-growing discontent of the commonborn citizenry. In the aftermath of a bloody rebellion in the territory of Stormgrave, the Church declares Roland, a soldier and military captain in the service of Baron Merkul, a heretic and abomination. His crime? Returning from the land of the dead. Having perished in the rebellion, Roland is revived by Rena, a witch who seeks vengeance on three people who have wronged her. Bereft of his memories, unable to feel pain, and branded a criminal by the state religion, the soldier allies with Rena in exchange for having a second lease on life. An undead soldier and a witch whose art is reviled by all. What story will unravel between these two?
