What can readers expect? Slow progression, character development, slice of life, life and death, intricate worldbuilding, alien worlds and cultures, space politics, school politics, space wizards, school wizards, and a whole lot of growth. This story was designed in such a way so as to allow the reader to grow alongside the main character. Therefore, it will be slow and the chapters will be very beefy. What is the story about? The story is about a young boy who slowly learns what it means to be an Imperial Mage in a Galaxy that has, is, and will be torn apart by war.  Note that this story will be very long. What I'm trying to do, as an Author, is to make a story, wherein growth isn't quick, wherein the reader grows alongside the main character. Hence, this will be a long and, at times, slow story. But expect to be by the Main Character's side every step of the way. Draven Dorwyne thought he was fated to succeed his father as the Planetary Governor of Tarianis. On his fifteenth birthday, however, Draven's magical potential manifested. By the laws of the Triune Empire, all Mages, be they noble or commoner, must be taken into the Academies Arcana to wield their power, serve in the Imperial Army for five years, and only afterwards will they be granted freedom, should they wish it. No exceptions.  Draven did not have much of a choice on the matter.  That said, he's determined to make the most of the cards he's been dealt with and, most importantly, he's determined to return home.
