Nearly fifty years ago, at the end of the Cold War, magic all but disappeared from the world. Gods, fae, any major spirit or powerful working seemingly blinked out of existence. In the ensuing chaos, the balance of the world was turned on its head. Witches and practitioners, once able to perform feats of magic, are forced to scrounge for scraps of power to feed their Craft.  Juno is one of said witches, but she has more problems than just not being able to shoot fire from her eyes. She's getting ready to go to a college where she has no idea what she's going to do or how she's going to pay for anything past the first year. Her best friend is getting ready to go to a college on the other side of the world. On top of this, she hasn't had a real conversation with her mom in a year. And her dad is dying. Three years ago, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, and since then his health has only deteriorated. On her way to her dead end job one day, Juno stumbles across an unprecedented discovery. A god, and a hidden world. Her new reality is full of dangers, but more importantly, hope. Accompanied by her best friend, L, and her new deity, Juno enters into the world's most dangerous secret in search of a cure for her father.
