When the ship that Avery was first mate on was wrecked by a Kraken, you’d think that would have been the worst thing that could have happened to him. You’d be wrong.  Sure, he didn’t drown and he ended up on a nice beach. But it was nowhere near where the ship went down. And there was a strange guy on the beach called Armood who offered him a way to get home, if he just carried out a few tasks for him, nothing too difficult for a smart guy like Avery… So now he’s sitting on a beach holding the world’s most important chicken egg and wondering what exactly happened. And what he was going to have to do if he ever wanted to get home again.
