Synopsis
In a brutal goblin tribe where might makes right, Snik is the lowest of the low—a scrawny, overlooked scavenger who survives by keeping his head down and his secrets hidden. Life in the muck suits him just fine, after all, it's all he’s ever known. Survival means staying small, unnoticed, and most of all, unimportant.
But Snik’s carefully crafted obscurity shatters when his precious shiny rock, which was one of the few treasures he allowed himself to admire, betrays him. What seemed like a harmless trinket turns deadly, killing him in an instant. Yet death is far from the end.
When Snik opens his eyes again, he’s in a place even stranger and smellier than any human city he’s ever scavenged. To his horror, he’s been reborn in the fragile, puny body of a human child. In a world ruled by social hierarchies and hidden dangers far more insidious than goblin brutality, Snik must navigate an alien culture that values obedience and conformity over strength.
Can a goblin with a lifetime of cunning and survival instincts carve out a place in this new world, or will he be forced to abandon his nature and succumb to the role of a meek, obedient child?
