Synopsis
Note: Just some subliminal messages on life, as I believe them to be important for growing teens, hidden behind a short story about horror and post-war livelihood brought to you by my nightmares. No, really, I dreamt all this stuff.
The Kressler's are a nice family of few, living on the newly settled land after the great migration, an event that sent 200 ships from their sinking continent to find and settle on new land, and although they found salvation on an archipelago they were met with much resistance from the natives. A few years after the first war for sovereignty, the fires for independence still rages on and beyond the borders of New Alexandria, the war still continues.
BUT...
This is not a story about the war or the adventures at the borders, but a viewpoint of the children left behind and the household that waits for their father's and brothers to return. But what happens when they return home in a box? How will the children cope with a fatherless existence? How will they fare now that Mother has gone mad with grief?
