When the Blackshield Company is hired to protect the sixteen year old heiress to the Duchy of Aeddelgild it seems an easy job. Their employer is the girl's paranoid and mentally unstable mother who believes even the walls are out to get her daughter while everyone else in the duchy tell the Blackshields that they were only hired to calm the Grand Duchess' nerves. Including the heiress herself. But just as the Blackshields are about to relax and await their payment, a potential threat arises. A real threat. And maybe the Grand Duchess was not wrong about the walls after all. Currently on hold as I'd rather spend time preparing the second book in my fantasy epic trilogy: A World Asunder.
