The party of four copper adventurer momentum's came to a stopping halt.
The goblin which fell to a single strike in the beginning was no more.
Now the weakest of those little green monsters could take 3 to 4 hit.
To the back, left and right is the cave wall.
A dozen goblin in the front, trapping them.
Despair slowly crept and clutched their trembling heart.
Slowly, moments of their live now flashed through.
They realized now every foolish action they took.
And the devilish whisper of their pride -
We are the top of our class. Genius that only come once in a 100 year. Why should we have the same start as the rest of the bottom feeders?
Goblins are the weakest. It'll be a walk in the park with the four of us.
Swordsman, Archer, Mage and Acolyte. We can take on anything.
We even fought wolves, skeletons and orcs. Those are considered Silver and Gold, we should have been given gold plate but they want us to start at copper? Let's take down a goblin hideout and shove those nasty ears in their face. Humph.
- sent them straight to their doom.
A tough looking goblin suddenly emerged and strikes hard with his brutal looking club.
The blow was strong. Strong enough that the swordsman's shield broke into pieces.
Another goblin appeared and hacked at the now vulnerable swordsman.
He managed to parry it but the blow was a heavy one and caused him to stumble down on the cave floor.
"Ugh. Oh no. HELLLPPPP MEEE. ARGHHHHHHH."
No sooner than he fell did the numerous goblins rushed and jumped at him like piranhas eating a chunk of bloody meat.
The other three member of the party stood still, frozen in shock.
Their eyes widened to capture the terrible scene unfolding right in front.
Their ears captured every sound that is made whether it be the agony of their friend or the frenzied goblin feasting on him.
Stolen novel; please report.
Their brain however does it best to deny every information that is sent.
This isn't real. It can't be true. This is a just a dream. A very sick dream.
Moments later, a change occurred. There is no longer screaming sound nor the loud sound of chewing flesh.
A sudden thought flashed by their mind. A terrible one. There are no longer food for those goblin.
As in on cue, those frenzied goblin turned their head towards the three human frozen in fear.
Their eyes locked. Countless emotion surged. Each and every thought are clearly visible.
Panic, fear and disgust are written all over the human party.
Slowly the goblins inched closer. Eyes wide with delight, lips stretched from ear to ear and some have their jaw loose with saliva oozing out.
Those three knew exactly what those goblins have in their mind. They'd have to be living in a cave if they didn't know.
Reality dawned upon them like the rays of rising sun in the dawn, chasing away the darkness of the night. In this case their dream. Even if it were a dream, none of them would want face what's to come.
The reason why goblins were so hated. Nobody know how and when the first goblin came to be. However, everyone knows that all goblin are male with no exception. The only way for goblin to increase their population is by breeding with a human. It is also the reason why most human female are disgusted at the mention of goblin. Though most of them did it to cover the fear they hid deep inside their heart.
Now that fear which is buried deep inside is climbing out to surface.
Panic took hold, unwilling to suffer such a fate they resisted. Defying against these filthy green monsters. Skills and magic is being thrown one after another.
Lights flashed, arrows flied and holy incantation filled the cave. One by one the goblin fell down. A light of hope is lit in their trembling heart.
Focused on the goblins that is still inching forward slowly towards them with grins and that perverted gaze, a feeling of unease grows.
“Attack and step back, keep it up and we can -" her step stopped. Cold. Slowly the cold crept from her back to the rest of her body. She knows now why the goblins were just slowly making their way. They had forgotten that they were trapped in a dead end.
“No. This can't be happening.”
A green outstretched arm grabbed her bow whilst she stood in denial, the goblin then broke the bow in two with his bite.
The other goblin snatched the mage's magic staff and the acolyte’s holy book.
Having their weapon snatched, their already faint light of survival dimmed even more. The archer clearly still not resigned to her fate throws a punch with all her might.
Smack!
It hit squarely on the goblin's temple but the goblin didn't fall as expected.
The mage seemed to have resigned on her fate and simply laid down resting her back on the cave wall.
“God, angel, demon, devil, whoever it is please. Please help us. Don't abandon us…”
The acolyte have been mumbling this nonstop since a while back with her eyes closed.
She felt weird, ever since she kept praying for help, time seemed to pass so slowly and even the sound were somehow muffled out till it was a dead silence.
What happened? Why can't I hear anything?
Slowly she opens her eye. What greeted her was a huge figure staring right at her. Shrouded in countless of strange wisp of light, she could only make out that the figure was sitting on a throne of some sort. Before she could observe more, a voice sounded directly inside her head.
“You called me. Child. What is it. You Desire?”
