Alphonse was the name given to him as a child by the guerilla war team.  Sullivan was the surname Doctor Jenkins chose for him after he took the teenager who saved his life into his home.  Butler is his title, his job, his purpose.  He takes out the trash for the Jenkins household and protects David, their only surviving child, along with the young master's childhood friend, Alice.  What will Alphonse do to keep David and Alice safe?  What won't he do to keep his family from meeting the same fate as those who raised him on the battlefield?
