The Specters of Humanity had a purpose. For decades, they traveled The Endless Realms looking for the materials they needed for a special mechanism. A mechanism that would send one of them to the past, to the old Earth. Before the beings from other worlds came and killed billions. Before magic and qi and monsters had destroyed everything that remained and built a slave world on the smoking ruins. After many trials and brutal battles, it was done. They had all the pieces they needed. There was just one problem. The Specters of Humanity had fallen. All of the remaining members had been killed in the final battle. All except one. He wasn't a founding member. He was a villain, a monster they'd beaten into submission and forced along their quest. The only reason he hadn't been killed originally was that he was from the same place as them. The ruined Earth. And now Henry Stroeder, the Demon of Slaughter, was the only thing that could protect it from what was coming. (This is my first real writing project. It will not be good.
