Surrounded by other prisioners, unique abominations, magical powers, and constant danger, Rio fights to survive, inadvertently unraveling deep mysteries, meeting a girl, and encountering the enigmatic knight "Sunset".  You can expect: mystery, world-building, interesting abilities, an original power system, attention to plot details and a realistic approach.
