Synopsis
Resetting Batman's origin story back to 1939, this is a very literary first-person perspective novel that is heavily inspired by the comics, and places emphasis upon the science and technology of the Batman mythos. It is firmly cemented in real world history using historical figures to do so, and utilizes detailed forensic knowledge of the time period to create a believable detective mystery.
1939 - Year of the Bat-Man is told from the perspectives of Bruce Wayne, James Gordon, and Selena Kyle. The tale imagines young Bruce being kidnapped by Gotham's "Streetnapper" on the night that his parents were murdered. It is here where his psyche shatters and the bat persona slowly begins to take on a life of its own. Little does he know, this event will eventually prove to become his greatest clue in solving the identity of the illusive criminal, allowing the Bat-Man to take his vengeance and cement his legacy in Gotham forever.
