"How did you do on the chemistry exam?"
"I probably failed it, I should be fine to pass this semester though since I had you as my lab partner."
Luke and Alex walked out of the building and towards the parking lot. Spring semester was over and they'd have the next 4 months of Summer before starting again in the Fall. Luke thought about what he'd do during the break.
"Have you found a job yet Alex?"
"Nope, I was thinking about taking the summer off and just living off my parents for a bit. What about you?"
"Haven't found anything, I'm managing to stay afloat for now off the mobile game I put out last year. It's not getting much more downloads and I can't think of anything I can do with it to attract more players."
"Why not just add more levels? It can't be that hard."
"It takes a lot of effort to just come up with the ideas, not to mention actually adding them."

"Really? That new trailer for Endless made it sound like they'd be doing it constantly."
"Yeah but apparently they developed an AI to do it for them, they'll just be looking over it's shoulder most of the time."
"Whatever they'll be doing, it looks good. Are you going to play it when it comes out?"
"Of course I am, I'm not going to be making payments on my pod and not using it."
They reached the parking lot, both getting into the green sedan. They drove back to their apartment a few miles away.
"Well it comes out next week, what are you going to be in it?"
"I'll probably be a fighter, sword and board is classic and there will always be a use for it. What about you Luke?"
"I'm going with a caster. According to the developer interviews, magic will be a fluid thing in the game, the AI responding to your intentions and creating your spells alongside you."
"No shit? I didn't see that one. Isn't that going to be overpowered?"
"Maybe not, they said that the strongest spells are going to be as hard to learn as an entire semester of calculus."
"Well fuck me, I'll stick to swinging pointy things. But you'll do fine eh? Mr. Straight As since pre-school."
"We'll see, if it gets too hard, I'll probably have to fall back on that pointy things plan."
The two settled in for the night, playing video games and planning their future. In less than a week, they'd be seeing a new world with millions of other players. Laying down to sleep that night, Luke thought about it...
"As hard to learn as calculus huh? I wonder how long before people bitch about it on the forums."
He chuckled as he lay in bed, waiting for sleep.
